Put Legislation in Place Supporting Families Who Have Lost a Child to Gun Violence

The #1 Cause of Childhood Death in Our Country is Through Gun Violence.
It's not childhood cancer, not childhood obesity, or lack of care. The number one cause of death for children in the United States of America is gun violence.

Gun deaths among US children and teens rose 50% in two years.
This happened between 2019 and 2021.

We CAN and MUST do better for our children!

2

Locking Up Guns in Vehicles & Reporting Lost or Stolen Guns Should Be Mandatory

Only 17 states in the USA require firearms to be locked up while unattended in a vehicle.
Many guns are stolen from cars.

Only 17 states require owners to report a stolen gun.

Over 80% of mass shooters at K-12 schools stole guns from family members.

Stolen and "ghost guns" represent nearly 40% of firearms used to commit crimes. The number of ghost guns recovered by the ATF has risen by more than 1,000% since 2017.

3

Background Checks and Gun Safety Training Should Be Mandatory

Currently only 21 states and Washington DC require background checks.

The majority of Americans feel it is too easy to legally obtain a firearm.

Roughly 9 out of 10 US adults
favor preventing people with mental illness from purchasing guns.

Sweeping background checks reduce the rate of violence with firearms.

4

Expand Community Access to Mental Health and Gun Safety Awareness Programs

The United States rate of mass shootings has more than DOUBLED in the past 10 years.

61% of Americans (including 67% of Republicans and 55% of Democrats) said violent crime was a very big problem for the country.

Our country's mental health crisis has contributed to firearms becoming the #1 means of suicide.

The US gun violence rate is about 340 times higher than in the UK.

5

Weapons of War Need Stronger Regulation

No one should be able to get an assault weapon without first completing extensive mandatory training, a very full mental health  and background check, and undergoing a mandatory 90 day wait period during completion of the process.

About 1 out of 20 Americans own an assault weapon.

Gun massacre deaths dropped during the Assault Weapons Ban. They increased after it expired.

The Sandy Hook and the Parkland shooters bought their guns legally shortly after turning 18.

6

Decrease Noted Risk Factors so Children and Parents Do Not Live in Fear of School Shootings

More than 370,000 students have experienced gun violence at school since Columbine.

The US has had 57 times as many school shootings as all other major industrialized nations combined.

Additionally, roughly 4.6 million children live in a home with loaded and unlocked firearms

Only 26 states have Secure Storage or Child Access laws.

Mission Statement for the ARA™

The overall mission of the ARA is a simple one: we strive to aggregate the collective will of our fellow Americans and to represent that will until greater safety and cohesion is achieved for The People.

The majority of Americans want a common sense approach to gun violence. This has been confirmed by innumerable polls by both left-leaning and right-leaning sources. The problem: money warps voice. Well funded, aggressive groups like the NRA™ actively lobby against sensible gun laws and reasonable gun safety. While these memberships have dwindled in recent years under intense scrutiny for misallocation of donations and questionable ethics, they still remain a powerful and influential force in shaping gun policy in the United States.

We at the ARA™ want the true and complete voice of the American people to manifest the power and influence to stand up to the likes of the NRA™ and crime profiteers. Current gun owners can be proud to be members, and to support an organization that advocates safe and responsible gun ownership. Non-gun owners can be proud to stand tall beside us as we do the important work of changing laws and policies that simply do not make sense.

It is time to remove guns from the hands of people who simply should not be allowed to own them, while also protecting the rights of sensible Americans who very much should. Enough of division and circular conversations where common sense and reason can not be found. It is time for The People's will to be heard, and the ARA™ is privileged to broadcast that collective demand.

We need all of our voices to be heard in order for true progress to occur!
Please support our mission and our fight for a safer tomorrow, today!
Even a small donation helps the cause!

We thank you!
